The Quantum Research Group is headed by Prof. Francesco Petruccione and is hosted within the School of Chemistry and Physics at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, Durban, South Africa. Professor Petruccione is an expert in open quantum systems and author of the seminal textbook The Theory of Open Quantum Systems. Research topics in the group include theoretical and experimental approaches to open quantum systems, quantum machine learning and quantum biology.
